The Majestic WarmMajic-II is a heat-circulating wood-burning fireplace with glass doors and a blower, built to heat the room rather than just decorate it. Sizes: WarmMajic-II. Choose the size, then the refractory and doors that finish it; the price updates as you go.
- Type: Wood Fireplace
- Fuel: Seasoned firewood
- Made by: Majestic, a Hearth & Home Technologies brand
Who it's for
Right buyer. You want a wood fireplace that heats: glass doors, a blower and heat circulation, for a home where the fireplace runs most winter evenings.
Wrong buyer. You want the open-hearth look and do not care about heat; the Ashland, Biltmore or Royalton cost less.
Will it fit?
Framing the opening
Frame the rough opening below, measured inside the studs. Depth is from the finished face of the wall. Where the vent pipe goes through the framing there is a separate hole; the manual's drawing gives its position.
| Model | Width | Height | Depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| WarmMajic II | 42‑1/2" | 56‑3/4" | 24" |
Framing notes from the manual
- WarmMajic II: Back width: actual 40, framing 42-1/2. *If interior of chase will be drywalled, add the thickness. Finished cavity depth must be no less than 24 in. from finished backwall to outside of front wall framing. 2 x 4s must be used for the header and framing above the header to maintain pipe clearances. Allow 12 in. minimum cavity depth if using an elbow/bend for the required outside air. Chimney framing 14-1/2 in. for SL300 chimney; 16 in. for DuraPlus chimney.

|---|---|
| Sides | 1" |
| Back | 1/2" |
| Ceiling | 36" |
| Adjacent wall | 16" |
| Hearth extension | 20" |
| Floor | 0" |
Notes from the manual
1 in. to side of appliance; 1/2 in. to back; 0 in. to floor; 36 in. top of appliance to ceiling; must have 2 in. minimum clearance to header; faceplate to sidewall 16 in.; electrical wires a minimum of 16 in. from top. Hearth extension: minimum 20 in. in front and 8 in. on sides to fuel opening; minimum 2 in. cement board or equivalent (or one piece HX4). Combustible mantel positioned 60 in. from base of fireplace (12 in. grid); non-combustible mantel may be positioned as low as 1 in. above the fascia and 12 in. deep, or from the base of the fireplace 38 in. up. Owner's manual clear space: 48 in. front of fireplace; 12 in. sides of fireplace (from the FP opening).
Heat and burn
An open wood fireplace is not a rated heater, and Majestic publishes no BTU figure for it: the fire warms what it faces by radiation, and most of the heat from the flue goes outdoors. What decides how much fire you get is the firebox: WarmMajic II opens 56-3/4", WarmMajic II opens 40-1/2, Sides opens 1/2", Ceiling opens 16", Hearth extension opens 0". Seasoned hardwood, a proper chimney draft and doors closed as the fire burns down give the most warmth for the wood. Where a gas log set is approved for the model, its rating is on the log-set page.
Chimney and installation
| Venting | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Type | Factory-built chimney (SL300 or DuraPlus) |
| Pipe | Vent size 8 inches (owner's manual) |
Chimney Air Kit required with SL chimney; DuraPlus base plate required with DuraPlus chimney.
A factory-built wood fireplace is framed into the wall on a combustible floor with the clearances in its manual, and vented with the chimney pipe system listed for it, run inside a chase up through the roof. The pipe, supports, firestops and cap are sold separately and quoted from your installer's plan. Gas log sets and gas starters need the knockouts and a gas line run by an installer.

How it performs
The WarmMajic-II is the one Majestic wood fireplace built to heat: glass doors, a blower and a heat-circulating jacket, so a fire burns long and slow with the doors closed and the warm air comes out into the room instead of up the chimney. On a cold night it does the job a wood stove does, in the wall.
Trade-offs to know
- It is run with the doors closed for heat; open, it is an ordinary fireplace.
- The blower needs 120 volts at the fireplace.
- Chimney system per the manual.
Living with it
Burn seasoned wood, clean the glass with fireplace cleaner, sweep yearly, keep the blower's intake clear of dust.

Questions people ask
Can I put gas logs in it?
Most Majestic wood fireplaces have gas knockouts and are listed for specific vented gas log sets; the options on this page are the ones Majestic approves for this model. A gas line and installation by a gas fitter are required.
Does it heat the room?
An open wood fireplace is for the look and the radiant warmth in front of it; most of the heat goes up the chimney. Doors help. For heating, look at the WarmMajic-II or a wood insert.
Which chimney pipe does it take?
The pipe system listed in the manual for this model, in the diameter and minimum height it specifies. We quote it from your installer's plan.
Can I return it?
Fireplaces are special-order freight items. Confirm the size, refractory and doors with us before you order, and contact us before returning anything.
What wood should I burn?
Seasoned hardwood, split and dried a year or more, below 20 percent moisture. Wet wood smokes, coats the chimney with creosote and makes a poor fire.
How often does the chimney need sweeping?
Once a year at least, and after every cord or two if you burn nightly. Creosote is the fire risk in any wood fireplace, and a sweep is cheap insurance.
Do I need the doors?
No, but they pay for themselves: closed, they stop room air going up the flue when the fire burns down, and they keep sparks in. Glass doors let you see the fire closed.
Can I add a blower later?
Where the model lists a fan or forced-air kit on this page, yes; it fits into the cabinet without rebuilding. Models without a listed kit are radiant only.
