Description
The Majestic Quartz Platinum is the Quartz firebox with a taller glass opening, a liner and front chosen to finish it, and IntelliFire Touch, in 36 inch. It comes in 3 sizes: Contemporary Door Front – Black, Contemporary Door – New Bronze, Decorative Black Mesh.
Who it's for
Right buyer. You want the Quartz firebox with a taller glass opening and IntelliFire Touch, and you will pick a liner and front to finish it, in 36 inch.
Wrong buyer. You want the firescreen and logs in the box at the base price; that is the standard Quartz. You want more sizes and front choices; the Meridian.
How it performs
The Quartz Platinum keeps the Quartz firebox and adds a taller glass opening, IntelliFire Touch and the choice of liner and front.
Good to know
- A direct-vent fireplace is sealed behind glass; there is no open fire and no smell of wood.
- The front is a separate purchase and a separate decision; the fireplace cannot be finished without one.
- The venting run decides where it can go; a long or complicated run adds to the installation more than the fireplace does.
Specifications
Dimensions
Framing the opening
Frame the rough opening below, measured inside the studs. Depth is from the finished face of the wall. Where the vent pipe goes through the framing there is a separate hole; the manual's drawing gives its position.

Framing notes from the manual

Clearances
Clearances are to combustible materials, from the appliance. They come from the installation manual for this model and depend on how it is vented; the installer confirms them on site.
Notes from the manual
Mantel clearances are measured from the top of the fireplace opening, which is 33-9/16 in. above the bottom of the appliance; the combustible and non-combustible mantel charts are printed as drawings on page 2 of the Architect Guide. Combustible mantel legs or wall projections: 3 in. minimum from the opening on both sides, or 2-7/8 in. minimum with a 36 in. maximum projection on one side; non-combustible legs 1/2 in. minimum, unlimited projection. Exterior chase: 40 in. minimum height; wall penetration 26-7/8 in. to center for the vent.

Installation
| Venting | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Type | Direct vent |
| Pipe | DVP or SLP |
With heat management, see the installation manual for framing and reduced mantel clearances.
Electrical: 120Vac, 60Hz., less than 12 Amperes (total electrical requirements, owner's manual rating plate text)
Direct vent: a sealed coaxial pipe carries exhaust out and combustion air in, through the roof or an outside wall, with no chimney. The vent pipe, elbows and termination are sold separately and quoted from your installer's plan.
Planning the install
- Installation is by a licensed gas installer. The fireplace, its venting and the gas line are inspected together, and the warranty depends on it.
- Framing, clearances to combustibles, mantel heights and the vent run come from the installation manual for your size. Send us your plan and we will check it before anything ships.
- Venting is sold separately and priced from the installer's plan: the pipe, elbows and termination depend on where the vent exits. Ask us for a vent quote with your order.
- Propane: every model is also made in an LP version at the same price. Add a note to your order and we will confirm the LP model before it ships.
- A 120-volt outlet or junction box at the fireplace is needed for the fan, lights and accessories; the ignition itself has battery backup.
- Special-order goods ship by freight. Confirm the size and the front before you order.
Questions
What is a front, and why is it required?
A Majestic direct-vent fireplace ships as the firebox and glass. The front is the finished face that covers the frame and the vents: a clean-face trim that disappears into the wall, or a decorative front with a screen. The fireplace cannot be finished without one, which is why the page will not let you order without choosing it.
What is IntelliFire Touch?
Majestic's intermittent-pilot ignition system. There is no standing pilot burning all year; the fireplace lights when you turn it on, from the wall switch, the remote or the app. It has a battery backup, so it still lights in a power outage. Flame height, the fan and the lights are controlled from the RC400 remote or the IntelliFire app with the Wi-Fi module.
Does it heat the room?
Yes. A direct-vent fireplace is a sealed heater: it draws combustion air from outside and sends its exhaust outside, so all the heat from the glass goes into the room. With the optional fan it warms a good-sized room; the passive heat and heat-zone kits move heat to another room or out of the wall above.
How is it vented?
Through a coaxial direct-vent pipe out the top or the rear, to a termination on the roof or through an outside wall. No chimney is needed. The pipe, elbows and cap are sized to your house and sold separately.
Can I get it in propane?
Yes. Add a note to your order and we will confirm the LP model, which is the same price.
Can I return it?
Fireplaces are special-order freight items. Confirm the size, the front and the interior with us before you order, and contact us before returning anything.
