At a glance
- Use only what your burner's manual calls for on the burner itself. Extra embers or sand on the burner cause soot and unsafe burning. Lava and stones go on the hearth around the burner, never on it or behind it.

Questions
How much do I need?
Your burner's manual shows the amount of sand or vermiculite for the pan and how many bags of embers go on it. One bag of Ember Glow covers a typical 18 to 30 inch vented burner; the Flame Enhancer and larger burners take more.
What are Bryte Coals?
Small platinum-coated pieces that glow bright orange in the flame. They are packed with the G31, G46, G52 and vent-free burners and can be added to any Real Fyre ember bed.
Can I put lava on the burner?
No. Lava goes on the hearth around the burner. On the burner it blocks the ports and causes soot.
Sand or vermiculite?
Sand for natural gas. Vermiculite for propane, where it also helps the flame spread.
