Majestic Trilliant Gas Insert — Homeowner Guide
Quick Overview
The Majestic Trilliant is a direct vent gas insert made to turn an existing fireplace into a cleaner, more efficient gas system without rebuilding the whole structure around it. It is built for homeowners who want stronger everyday heat, easier operation, and a more finished look inside the fireplace they already have.
What’s included
This package is built around the Trilliant insert and the required finishing components needed for a complete installation.
- gas insert unit in natural gas, also available in propane if needed
- selected front
- selected surround
- required direct vent liner kit
The insert itself includes the core features homeowners usually want to know are already there:
- IntelliFire Touch ignition system
- RC400 remote control
- GFK-160A variable fan
- heat exchanger tubes
- ceramic glass
- glowing embers
- battery backup
- gas flex connector
- Canyon Brown brick interior
- decorative brick base
The Quick Truth (and quick specs)
Trilliant is available in three insert sizes:
- 25 — 27,000 max BTU in natural gas / 25,000 max BTU in propane
- 30 — 32,700 max BTU in natural gas / 32,000 max BTU in propane
- 35 — 35,000 max BTU in natural gas / 35,000 max BTU in propane
- all three use a direct vent liner system
- all three use IntelliFire Touch and include a blower
- all three are designed for existing solid-fuel masonry fireplaces or UL127 factory-built fireplaces
Will it fit my fireplace?
Trilliant is made for existing fireplace openings, not new framed cavities. The minimum inside opening needed for the insert to fit is:
- 25 — front width 26-5/8, front height 17-5/16, depth 15
- 30 — front width 31-5/8, front height 21, depth 15
- 35 — front width 36-5/8, front height 24-1/4, depth 15
The back of the firebox can taper smaller, and if the damper area and vent path do not line up cleanly, extra height may be needed for vent bends.
Does it cover the opening?
Yes. The surround is the trim that covers the space between the insert and your fireplace opening. It does not decide whether the unit fits. It decides how much of the opening gets covered and how finished the final result looks.
- 25 small: 35 x 23
- 25 medium: 37 x 26
- 25 large: 39 x 28
- 30 small: 40 x 27
- 30 medium: 42 x 30
- 30 large: 44 x 32
- 35 small: 42 x 29
- 35 medium: 44 x 32
- 35 large: 48 x 32
New bronze surround options are available if needed, and medium deep black surrounds are also available for the 30 and 35.
Clearances (simple)
This is the part that matters in real life: if you want a mantel or a TV above the insert, that needs to be planned before installation.
- deeper mantels need more space above the unit
- TVs above fireplaces can work, but heat management matters
- the front and surround you choose affect the final spacing
- if your goal is a TV-above-fireplace setup, confirm that layout before ordering
What installation typically includes
- cleaning and preparing the existing fireplace
- running the direct vent liners through the chimney
- termination cap installation at the top of the chimney
- gas line connection
- electrical hookup or power routing
- insert placement and leveling
- front and surround installation
- startup, leak check, and testing
Optional upgrades
- interior upgrades such as reflective black glass liner
- finish upgrades such as new bronze front and surround options
- comfort and control upgrades such as Wi-Fi module and wall switch controls
Bottom line
The Majestic Trilliant is a strong gas insert upgrade when you want more heat, a more finished fireplace, and a broader range of front styles than the simpler insert lines. The 25 works well for smaller openings, the 30 is the middle ground, and the 35 is the best fit when you want a larger viewing area and a bigger visual upgrade.
