Real Fyre G45 Outdoor Stainless Steel See-Through Burner

The Real Fyre G45-2 Stainless Steel Burner is the outdoor version of Peterson's see-through Triple-T burner, for a fireplace that is open on two sides. Ember burners face both openings, so each side sees a glowing ember bed and a full flame, and the pan is stainless steel for the weather. This listing is the burner. Add a Real Fyre see-through log set in the matching size.

Will it fit your fireplace?

A see-through fireplace is open on two sides, so there is one width to measure: the narrowest point between the side walls. Depth is the distance from one opening to the other. Every size needs 18 inches of height.

Minimum firebox size with Match Light

With a valve, add 4 inches to the width so the burner still sits centered; with the electronic on/off remote, add 6. Depth jumps from 17 to 22 inches at 36 inch and larger. The firebox floor cannot have an ash lip or a sunken hearth deeper than 3/4 inch on either side.

The burner

A Triple-T burner on a raised platform with ember burners toward both openings. The pan is stainless steel, and sizes of 36 inch and larger include Peterson's heavy-duty grate. The optional stainless steel grate is available in 18, 24 and 30 inch.

Heat input on natural gas, BTU per hour

Choose your control

Match Light. There is no valve on the burner. You hold a long lighter at the burner and open the gas with your fireplace's wall or floor key, which also sets the flame height. Natural gas only, outdoors only.

Manual Safety Valve. A safety valve you light with the built-in igniter button; a thermocouple holds it open and shuts the gas off if the fire goes out. No standing pilot and no batteries.

Electronic On/Off Remote. An electronic valve that sparks its own pilot when you press On, with a handheld remote. Runs on batteries that come in the box. Sizes to 36 inch.

What arrives

• One carton: stainless burner pan (with the valve assembled on the valve versions), see-through grate with log locators, glowing embers, sand for the pan, gas connector kit and damper clamp. The remote version includes the handheld remote, receiver and batteries.
• Logs are a separate item. The ember screen packed with charred sets is not used on the see-through burner.

Before you order

• For see-through (two-sided) wood-burning fireplaces only, with a working flue and an open damper.
• Not compatible with the Flame Enhancer Kit.
• You need a natural gas line into the firebox, 1/2 inch inside diameter or larger, with a shut-off valve outside the firebox.
• Installation is by a qualified gas professional, and the burner should be inspected once a year.
• Do not burn wood in the fireplace once the burner is installed, and do not leave the fire on unattended.
• Sizes of 42 inch and larger are not agency-listed. Check your local code.
